Your Valley Forge CPCU Chapter has the distinction of being the "Home Chapter" within whose boundaries lie the headquarters of the Institutes and the Society. Since its renaissance in 2010 after being inactive for several years, the Chapter has made great progress in serving our membership.
Our goal is to provide members with a balanced mix of educational programs, networking and social events, and leadership opportunities. Because we are in the process of building our leadership for the future, members who can actively participate in the Chapter can gain management experience much earlier than they might achieve in their work environment. This experience can give you the advantage in your career advancement and burnish your resume.
2020 proved to be a challenging year for all professional organizations - including your Chapter. We began the year with a full schedule of educational, social and networking events, only to have most in-person programs sidelined due to covid restrictions. Although 2021 begins with many covid-related restrictions still in place, it appears the environment is improving with the advent of vaccines and a better understanding of protocols that minimize the spread of the virus. We will offer programs virtually as appropriate, but do hope to offer in-person events with all appropriate precautions, as the year progresses. Stay tuned. Your Chapter leadership remains committed to returning to more normal times, and Chapter finances are healthy to allow us to offer the high-quality programs you are accustomed to. Most events will remain 'no-cost' to Valley Forge CPCU Chapter paid members - possible the only chapter in the country to offer this benefit.
In today's competitive employment environment, we need to differentiate ourselves from others to clients and employers - both current and prospective. Obtaining the CPCU designation and reaffirming your professional and ethical commitment is a big step towards that. Membership - and active participation if you are able, will take you further in that direction. We look forward towards your continued support of the Valley Forge CPCU Chapter.
