The Senior Underwriter in this role is responsible for production,underwriting and managing a book of business for design professional liability. Postion is in Exton, PA. As a Design Professional Underwriter, you will drive activity focused on identifying and building new business opportunities. In addition to new business development, you will cultivate existing business relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include:
- Developing business opportunities through effective interaction with key insurance agencies and agency planning
- Establish and nurture relationships with insurance agencies
- Direct marketing activities with brokers and customers / prospects to retain business and drive new opportunities
- Leverage technical risk assessment to support the use of skillful, decisive and selective underwriting to generate insurance solutions varying in complexity for our clients
- Collaborate with underwriting, loss prevention and claims staff to enhance underwriting practices and process customer service
- Maintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements
You will report to the Head of Field Design, Regional Leader. We're looking for someone who has these skills and abilities:
- 3 - 7 years experience needed in the insurance industry
- Experience in underwriting, claims, etc. with a focus in achitects and engineers preferred or other professions such as law, construction, achitecture or engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel a minimum of 30%
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Professional designation such as CPCU or RPLU
